How can I put my current proposal, contract, or quote into Hectic?

If you already have a quote, proposal, or contract that you use, you can copy the text of that document and paste it into a text block in Hectic. Opt to add signatures or Hectic's legal contract terms. This will save your quote, proposal, or contract with your client files in Hectic.

If you already have a fully executed and signed contract, you can upload a PDF as an attachment in your client file so you don't have to hunt through emails to find it again.

How do proposals, contracts, and quotes work with the rest of Hectic?

When you create a proposal with projects or tasks and their associated fees and/or payment terms, Hectic can automatically create projects and tasks based on your proposal once it becomes a fully executed contract. If you have a deposit invoice associated with your payment terms, Hectic will also create a deposit invoice based on the terms. To send the deposit invoice, you just need to click it in invoices to approve it.

Can I turn a quote into an invoice?

Watch for an update coming in later 2022 for a more user friendly process to go from quote to invoice.

Currently, you could do this by creating an invoice with your quoted amounts. Create a new invoice for the client you would like to send the quote to. Enter manual line items with quoted prices. Remove payment instructions and payment terms and add in the notes that this is a quote. Once your quote has been approved, you can click the invoice and choose the [...] in the upper right corner. Choose "Return to draft" to edit the invoice with payment terms and instructions and update your due date to reflect the actual due date for payment. You can now resend this invoice.
