Templates is a pro-tier feature.

A new prospect is ready for a proposal. Be ready at a moment's notice with a proposal template already filled with the work you do the most and the rates you offer.

Create a new proposal template

The easiest way to create a proposal template is from an existing proposal. Navigate to the proposal you want (client>proposals). Click the 3 dots in the upper right corner and choose "Create template."

Start a new proposal template from scratch by opening your settings using the cog in the lower left corner. Choose templates>proposals. Then click "Create new" and select "Proposal template" from the dropdown in the upper right corner.

Name your proposal template in the upper left header to make it easy to remember.

All fields are editable simply by clicking them. Update the text "Deliverables and Timeline" to be your project name. Then click "Setup fees" to choose your fee type (hourly, fixed price, retainer) and the amount you'll be paid. Optionally, add your hour estimate. Read more about creating proposals here.

Pro-tip: If you bill by retainer, Hectic allows you to add in an overage payment amount based on the number of hours over your retainer that you track. This is set in the projects settings which can be accessed by hovering over a project name and clicking the edit icon.

When you add deliverables to this project, they can be automatically added to project management once the proposal is a fully executed contract. (Toggle this setting in Settings>Preferences>Proposals.)

You can allow your clients to choose one or multiple packages. Choose to add contract terms and/or legal terms. Your proposal template will auto save with each change. When you're done, you can save, close, or send a proposal with your new template by clicking the 3 dots in the upper right corner.

You can create a new template or overwrite an existing template.

Using proposal templates

To send a proposal from templates, simply navigate to the client you want to send a proposal to (or create a new one) and click on the proposals tab. Choose "+ New proposal" and then "Start from your library." Choose the template you want and select "Use it."

You'll be able to edit your proposal before sending it. Make this process even easier by creating deliverables packages.
